Is a Face Shield or Goggle Mandate Coming to Your Town, Next?

If Dr. Anthony Fauci has his way, you may be a seeing an addition to the mask mandate that many governors are issuing around the country.

For better protection, he says, you should wear a face shield or goggles, during an interview with ABC News.

“Theoretically you should protect all of the mucosal surfaces [eyes, nose, mouth], so if you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it,” he said in an interview with ABC News on Instagram Wednesday.

He admitted that it’s not “universally recommended but just for those who want “perfect protection” against the coronavirus.

Fauci said he's worried about heading into fall with the flu season and hopes that people will wear masks to prevent the spread.

He added one of the reasons eyewear hasn’t been recommended yet is “it’s so easy for people to just make a cloth mask.”

Do cloth masks work?

When the mask mandate came, it didn't come out of nowhere. In fact, in the beginning we were told masks weren't needed.

"There's no reason to be walking around with a mask," infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci told 60 Minutes.

While masks may block some droplets, Fauci said, they do not provide the level of protection people think they do. Wearing a mask may also have unintended consequences: People who wear masks tend to touch their face more often to adjust them, which can spread germs from their hands.

There were suggestions, of masks, for weeks before any mandate came.

Will we see the same transition play out here? Is a new mandate coming to your state or town?

How would Americans feel about an additional mandate for goggles or face shields?

  1. Fauci is a quack.

Might as well get your Hazmat suit now.
And get one with it’s own air supply.

There is one critical problem besides cost.
After wearing it long enough, your immunity to anything will go to ZERO.

  2. Perfect protection: put a plasic bag over your entire head and sevire around your neck snuhly wit a robber band. Guaranteed to keep you from dying of coronavirus, you paranoid assholes.

  3. Such stunning foolishness. I am amazed at how out of kilter this became. We’re permitting those that have or desire to have the public visibility in this thing waaay too much latitude. Everybody thinks their own “great idea” should become actionable. How could it not? They have thought and thought about how important their idea is – we just can’t see it because we are just not as bright. The longer they dwell on the subject, the more of a monstrosity is being created of it – between their ears. Unfortunately, we will all have to deal with it eventually.
The motives vs. the motivations of the individuals &/or groups endorsing such, should be held at an arms length and their ideas given great pause.
This has left the realm of reasonable safety precautions and has become just nuts. The stats and “science” just does not support more.

  4. If esteemed party member comrade kommissar Fraudski tells me to hit myself across the face with a lead pipe then I should do it right away.
We’re all in this together…keep your distance.
Perfect protection? A hazmat suit inside a hermetically sealed bubble.

  5. God I hope so, as a disabled federal agent for life, and having congestive heart failure and chronic spinal pain, I have been homebound for years. The fact that people cant seem to wear a mask to protect themselves and others seems only logical. Would you want your surgeon and OR staff not to wear masks? Well the reasons they do so are now a fact of life in this world for daily living.
If you dont believe in the danger of the virus, think your immune or it wont be so bad, then I suggest you volunteer to work with Covid 19 patients in your local hospital… No? I thought as much. Get real America.. And let us all live…
