Biden Administration Goes Around DeSantis’ Back to Fund Draconian School Districts

The Biden administration is inserting itself into Florida’s school system and overthrowing the Democratic process by funding school districts who are breaking the Governor’s anti-mask mandate executive order, reports Fox News.

In late July, Florida Gov. DeSantis signed an executive order that would ban masks in Florida school districts based on scientific evidence and the results of last school year.

Since then there have been multiple school districts that have announced they will be enforcing a mask mandate in the upcoming school year.

The DeSantis administration announced they would potentially defund the salaries of school administrators and school boards that decide to force children as young as 5 to wear masks for 8 hours a day.

Now, Biden’s Department of Education is saying they will give funds to districts that lose them at the state level for disobeying the anti-mask mandate order.

Miguel Cardona, Biden’s Education Secretary, wrote in a letter to DeSantis that the federal government would be able to continue “paying the full salaries of educators (including superintendents) and school board members, regardless of whether the State moves to withhold some of their salary as Florida is threatening.”

In line with his history of fighting for Floridians, a DeSantis spokesperson accused the Biden administration of giving support to “superintendents and elected politicians, who don’t believe that parents have a right to choose what’s best for their children, then on Florida’s students, which is what these funds should be used for.”

All of this comes after the Biden administration attacked Texas & Florida of causing the surge of COVID-19 and it was revealed that the CDC overreported Florida’s COVID-19 case numbers by 30%.

Secretary Cardona sent a similar letter to Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas due to Abbott’s similar mask mandate ban.

The CDC also weighed in on DeSantis’ mask mandate policy: “Florida’s recent actions to block school districts from voluntarily adopting science-based strategies for preventing the spread of COVID-19 that are aligned with the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) puts students and staff at risk.”

But like their recommendations on vaccines and mask-wearing, that is liable to change at a moment’s notice.

  1. The CDC has been misinforming us all along. Now they are saying there is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Dr Walensky of the CDC inadvertently admitted that the numbers used to make that claim came from Jan-June 2021 when most people were not vaccinated. In June only 30% had been vaccinated. They have been lying to us all along.
