There can really be no question that Jim Comey was one of the worst things to happen to the FBI. His bias toward Hillary and against her opponent wasn’t even hidden. There was no objectivity on display. There was no shame or remorse for the way he handled the Clinton Investigation and the black eye he gave the good men and women of the FBI. However, it only gets worse from here.
We now know that Robert Mueller's team was full of people who hated Trump and we know that Page and Strzok were key individuals in the insurance plan (coup) that was a backup in case Trump won the 2016 election.
We also know that the FBI interviewed Hillary Clinton without putting her under oath. They didn't even record the interview. They also let a witness be present in her interview (Cheryl Mills). Comey admitted this was 'unusual'.
Now, new text messages have come to light that show key FBI agents were discussing recruiting White House sources to spy on Trump. What's more interesting than that is who one of the potential insiders was.
The texts and sources reveal that Strzok had one significant contact within the White House – Vice President Mike Pence’s Chief of Staff Joshua Pitcock, whose wife was working as an analyst for Strzok on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server.
While White House sources have told Sarah Carter that Pitcock's wife had recused herself once Trump and Pence became the nominee in 2016, text messages call that into question.
“The course of our oversight work we have reviewed certain text messages that may show potential attempts by the FBI to conduct surveillance of President-elect Trump’s transition team,” the letter states. “In text messages exchanged between former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and former FBI Attorney Lisa Page, the two discussed the possibility of developing “potential relationships” at a November 2016 FBI briefing for presidential transition team staff.
So, was Pitcock's wife recused or part of the conduit for spying on the Trump team? Was Pitcock, himself, one of the sources or inside spies? We don't know for sure, yet, but we do know that the more information comes out about the FBI & other intel agencies spying on the Trump campaign, the worse it looks for America's premier law enforcement agency.
Attorney General William Barr mentioned that he thought spying did occur on the Trump campaign and team. Was it legal? How much did Obama know? How much did the FBI cooperate with the Obama DOJ? This is a dangerous precedent for a free country. We need to know the answers and those who abused our justice system and law enforcement agencies need to be held accountable. It's the only way to restore trust in the FBI, going forward.
