Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is getting a dose of her own medicine this week, after her trip abroad was cancelled by President Trump. Hoping for a resolution to the government shutdown, Trump sent Pelosi a letter explaining why her trip was cancelled. This from Politico.
Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate.
This comes on the heels of Pelosi deliberately postponing President Trump’s State of the Union Address, in an attempt to antagonize Trump.

The President is still taking the highroad, with Pelosi, and has asked her to buckle down and work with to find solutions, to the problems America is facing at the moment.

I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown. Obviously, if you would like to make your journey by flying commercial, that would certainly be your prerogative.
We can only hope that President Trump continues to push Democrats to come to the table and negotiate with him on the important issues facing our country.

I hope Trump puts a permanent nix on Pelosi’s plans to fly military aircraft. She is an obvious abuser of this military, feels SO powerful pushing the military around with her demands. the taxpayer should NOT be funding her junket period. In fact. all the Congress should be flying commercial, she get enough money in their budget to do this. OR….charge back all the military aircraft and Sundry items she asks for to here account. That ought to rattle her cage. Flying commercial is certainly cheaper than military aircraft and support.

It is my opinion that Congress and other government employees use commercial flights for their trips. When I was a civilian government employee, and flew to attend a government function, I flew commercial, and as a military individual, I also flew commercial. I submitted my paperwork for reimbursement, they should do the same. They take advantage of their positions, and abuse the system. It’s time to set up new rules.
Obama is a past President, and should not be treated with kid gloves. If he wants to travel, let him do it on his own dime. Sorry, we provide enough money to past Presidents, without them bleeding the government.

Nancy Pelosi does not need to fly all over the country on our dime. She has got plenty of money so if she wants to take a trip, let her use her own money. I really think this is a good idea for all members of Congress. I also do not think they should be able to give themselves a raise when they feel it necessary. They need to follow the same rules as everyone else. The boss gives raises, they cannot give themselves raises. Half of them do not do anything to deserve a raise. Since we pay their salaries, we should be able to vote on whether or not they get a raise.
I agree with you all. It’s time we cut the extravagant lifestyle of the Congress. They should have to go by the same rules as the rest of us. It’s disgusting how they abuse the system.
